Vinyl Floor Repair

Gouged plank from a dropped knife, seams that peaked, a bubble in the sheet vinyl, water that found its way under. Vinyl repairs are quick, affordable, and much smarter than ignoring them.

Small problems now, or floor replacement later

Vinyl damage spreads. One unlocked seam lets water reach the subfloor. One curling sheet corner catches feet and tears wider. A soft spot under plank means something below is moving, and every step works it worse. Repairing early keeps the fix at the size of a plank or a patch instead of a room.

Plank floors repair beautifully when material is available: we release the field to the damaged board, swap it, and relock the run. This is also our standing pitch for keeping a spare box from any install, ours or anyone’s. With attic stock on hand, most vinyl repairs are an hour of careful work.

What the job includes

  • Individual plank and tile replacement in click-lock floors
  • Seam repair and re-bonding on sheet vinyl
  • Bubble and lift correction, including adhesive injection
  • Subfloor investigation when soft spots reveal movement below
  • Color and pattern matching when original stock is gone
  • Honest triage: repair, partial replace, or full replace, with numbers

How the job runs

The walkthrough

We check what is under your current floor first, because vinyl shows every hump and dip in the subfloor. Then you get a straight price in writing.

Subfloor flattening

This is the step cheap installs skip. We grind, patch, and level so planks lock flat and stay locked, no bouncing seams a year in.

Precision install

Planks and tiles cut clean around casings and jambs, expansion gaps held to spec, transitions finished with matching trim rather than whatever was on the truck.

The walkoff

Full walkthrough with you, registers and trim reinstalled, site vacuumed and hauled clean.

When repair stops making sense

There is a crossover point where repairs stop being kindness and start being money down a hole: discontinued product with no close match, widespread wear rather than local damage, or water that has soaked the subfloor under large areas. When your floor is past that point we say so, price the honest fix, and can usually credit the repair visit toward the bigger job.

The trickiest repairs are pattern-match jobs on discontinued lines. We keep supplier relationships that sometimes turn up dead-stock boxes, and when they do not, we borrow donor planks from inside closets to fix the visible field. It is a good trick, and we admit it is a trick.

The way we do business

No sales scripts, no pressure, no mystery math. You call, Thiago comes out, and you get a straight price in writing with the reasoning attached. If your floor needs less than you feared, you will hear that too, because we would rather keep a neighbor than win an invoice. We have been running this way in Shawnee since 2012, we are licensed and insured, and the 5.0 Google rating is the receipt.

Materials we stand behind

Vinyl quality is invisible in a showroom and obvious in year three. We source rigid-core and flexible products through ProSource Wholesale at contractor pricing, and we spec by the numbers that matter: wear-layer thickness, core construction, locking mechanism, and the manufacturer’s actual warranty terms rather than the shelf tag.

That lets us put honest tiers in front of you. A rental unit and a forever home should not buy the same plank, and neither should a quiet bedroom and a mudroom with two retrievers. We match the spec to the room and show you what each step up buys, in plain numbers. When a mid-tier product is the smart money, that is what we will say.

Where we do this work

Repair calls come in from every corner of the metro, with rental turnovers in Kansas City, KS and busy kitchens in Lenexa and Overland Park leading the pack.

Our shop sits in Shawnee and the working radius runs fifty miles in every direction, which covers Johnson, Wyandotte, and Jackson counties and everything between. If you are anywhere in the KC metro and need vinyl floor repair handled by people who do it every week, you are inside the circle.

Can one damaged vinyl plank be replaced?

Yes, in click-lock floors we open the field to the damaged plank, swap it, and relock everything. With matching material on hand it is quick work. Keep a spare box from any install; future-you will be grateful.

My vinyl has a bubble. What causes that?

Trapped moisture, adhesive failure, or subfloor movement below. We diagnose which before fixing, because flattening the bubble without fixing its cause is a two month solution to a permanent problem.

The seams on my plank floor are lifting. Fixable?

Usually, and worth doing fast before water finds the gap. Causes range from missing expansion gaps to subfloor humps. We fix the seam and the reason it opened.

What if my vinyl pattern is discontinued?

We hunt for dead stock through suppliers, and when that fails, we can harvest matching planks from hidden areas like closets and repair the visible damage with them. Last resort is an intentional contrast area or partial replacement.

Is water under vinyl an emergency?

Close to one. Vinyl traps moisture against the subfloor, which grows into rot and smell problems. If a flood or leak got under your floor, call promptly; opened early, floors and subfloors usually dry and survive.

How do I get a price for vinyl floor repair?

Call (913) 915-3193 or send the contact form with a rough description of the rooms and what is on the floor now. Thiago comes out, looks at the actual conditions, measures, and hands you a straight price in writing, usually within a few days of your call. No pressure follows it, and the number does not mutate once work starts.
